Meet the Mason Music Team
Will Mason
Owner/CEO
Will’s love for music began at age 6 with a keyboard from his grandmother and piano lessons from his parents. Over the years, he toured with the band Moses Mayfield, led worship, played countless gigs, and produced music for TV and film. These experiences laid the foundation for him to start teaching in 2007, eventually leading to the creation of Mason Music. Will is married to Mallory Mason (of Daughters Baking), and enjoys triathlons, yard work, and raising his amazing kids Alice and Liam.
Park Butterworth
Director of Operations
If it’s a role at Mason Music, Park’s done it. Park joined the team in 2017 as a teacher, climbing the ranks to studio manager and now Director of Operations. A drummer, guitarist, bassist, and singer himself, Park fronts local band JUCO. Outside of work, Park is happily married with boy-girl twins and a one-eyed dog named Jack. He loves rock climbing, college football, and his morning pour over. Fun fact: Park’s staff superlative is “most likely to wear orange”.
Sara Santoro
Human Resources Manager
Originally a studio manager, Sara has been an essential part of the Mason Music team since 2016. Sara brings over two decades of experience in management, leadership, and team building to her role. Oh, and the laptop? Sara is based out of Portland, OR, where she serves the team remotely. Sara’s hobbies include thrifting and caring for an inordinate number of houseplants. She’s also extremely passionate about music (obviously!).
Kennedy Ward
Director of Marketing
Kennedy graduated with her bachelors in marketing and MBA from Western Governors University. A digital native and natural storyteller, Kennedy is behind Mason Music’s marketing efforts – all from Raleigh, NC. When she’s not working, she can be found playing with her dog Biscuit, dreaming up a new craft, or experimenting in the kitchen. She’s also learning how to sing. Shania Twain karaoke, watch out!
Drew Swindle
Operations Manager
A University of Alabama engineering graduate, Drew brings his process improvement skills to the team. (He embodies: “think smarter, not harder”.) He’s also Mason Music’s resident jack-of-all-trades, playing electric guitar and drums, doing audio production for Birmingham’s best venues, and running his own guitar pedal company Swindler Effects. Outside of work, Drew loves board sports, video games, and Alabama football.
Haley Skipper
Student Placement Manager
Haley attended the Boston Conservatory and graduated with her B.F.A from the University of Montevallo. A seasoned vocal teacher and performer, Haley has worked with many schools and theatre companies in Birmingham and Atlanta. In her free time, Haley loves to perform, write music, and spend time with her family.
Anthony Morris
Teacher Admin Manager
While his academic background is in design, Anthony knew from a young age that music – piano – was his true passion. Prior to joining the management team, Anthony was a seasoned Mason Music piano instructor (and he still teaches!). Fun fact: Anthony has two decades worth of professional and church performance experience.
Serena Ryan
Woodlawn Studio Manager
A guitarist, bassist, pianist, and singer, Serena started writing for and performing in local bands at 16 and has not stopped since. Serena brings her tried-and-true leadership skills to her role at Mason Music after years of managing retail teams.
