Get ready to give a standing ovation to our July Student Spotlight, Dionne Hayes! Dionne has been with us at Mason Music for about a year. From her gorgeous singing voice to her passion for learning, Dionne truly stands out from the crowd.

Dionne’s time in Mason Music vocal lessons started with a clear mission: to refine her vocal range and master the art of singing. With her eyes set on improvement, she turned to our expert teachers for guidance and it’s been amazing to watch her grow. A year in, Dionne has made impressive strides toward her musical goals.

We asked Dionne about her experience with her teacher Jess and her response was filled with warmth. “Mrs. Jess is very funny and very sweet and patient with me!” exclaimed Dionne. Jess couldn’t be more thrilled with Dionne’s progress, sharing: “Dionne is an exceptional, dedicated student with a gorgeous singing voice. She loves learning new music and has been a huge asset to our group number, helping other students build their confidence. Watching her grow as a singer and performer has brought me so much joy. She’s also one of the kindest people you’ll meet! The combination of her love for learning and singing has been delightful!”

Dionne’s passion for musical theater is particularly evident. She immerses herself in songs from various musicals, bringing stories to life with her dramatic flair.

But Dionne’s musical journey isn’t just about hitting the high notes. She sees music as a source of motivation and personal growth. “It has given me a goal in life to keep working on,” she explains. This goal-driven approach has undoubtedly fueled her success.

When she’s not singing, Dionne’s also into dance, a true double threat. Her involvement with her school’s show choir team allows her to blend her love for singing and dancing, showing off her versatile talent.

Dionne’s advice to fellow music students? “Keep trying and you will become a great musician!” Her perseverance and determination are truly inspiring.
