Every student’s musical journey starts somewhere, and for Martin Singh, it began with Animal Adventures in Music.

Martin has been part of the Mason Music family for the past year. After graduating from our Animal Adventures in Music program, he took the next step in his musical journey by transitioning into piano lessons. His introduction to Mason Music was also inspired by his brother, who plays drums.

Now, he is developing his skills on the piano and discovering just how much he enjoys making music. When asked how music has impacted his life, Martin gave a simple but meaningful answer: “Music makes me feel good.”

From Animal Adventures to Piano

Animal Adventures in Music gives young students an opportunity to explore music in a fun, engaging environment before transitioning into private lessons. For Martin, graduating from the program was just the beginning.

After Animal Adventures, Martin started piano lessons with Ms. Carrie, who he describes as “joyful.” Having a teacher who brings energy and positivity to lessons has helped make his experience with music something he genuinely looks forward to.

While his brother’s drums may have first inspired him to explore music, he found his own musical path at the piano. We love seeing students take what they learn in early childhood music programs and build on those experiences as they discover an instrument they connect with.

A Student with Plenty of Passions

Music is just one of the many things Martin enjoys. When he’s not playing piano, you can find him playing soccer, tennis, or building LEGOs.

His interests outside of music are a great reminder that kids can explore and excel in all kinds of activities. Music can be another creative outlet alongside sports, hobbies, school, and everything else that makes them who they are.

When asked what advice he would give to other music students, he kept it simple: “To focus.”

Learning an instrument takes attention, patience, and practice. Staying focused during lessons and making time to practice can help students continue building their skills and confidence over time.
