At Mason Music, we love watching students grow and Kanvika Muppana has done just that! She started lessons with us through Music Lessons for Preschoolers, where she thrived using our Animal Adventures in Music curriculum to learn early music education concepts. Her natural enthusiasm and curiosity made her a standout and that strong foundation has set her up for success as she now transitions into piano lessons!
Now, seven months into her time at Mason Music, Kanvika continues to impress us with her bright spirit and musical passion. She first came to lessons with the goal to learn different instruments and become a great singer, just like her mom. That inspiration has carried her through each week, whether she’s singing favorites like Let It Go from Frozen or How Far I’ll Go from Moana.
Her teacher Gabe has played a big role in her excitement for learning. “He teaches a lot of things to me,” Kanvika says. “I like to do questions with him. He is so fun!” Their lessons are filled with curiosity, creativity, and plenty of music-making.
Music has always been a part of Kanvika’s home life. “We always play songs on the TV because both of my parents love music a lot,” she shared. That love for music at home helped spark her own interest, and now, she’s not only singing but also getting ready to take on piano with confidence.
Outside of music, Kanvika stays busy with tennis, swimming, and drawing. She proudly says she might just be a “little artist like my mom.” How sweet! She even shared a favorite musical moment: “One day I sang a devotional song in the temple and everybody appreciated me. I felt so happy and a little bit shy.”
She shares to other music students: “Music is so fun—you can sing a lot of songs! I also make up my own songs and sing them.” We love that creativity and can’t wait to hear the original tunes she’ll come up with next!
We’re so proud of the progress Kanvika has made and thrilled to see her continue to grow through music. Keep shining, Kanvika!
